Who will care when I am gone?

In 1972, a group of parents with severely mentally disabled children attended a seminar under this title and it became obvious that what they wanted for their children's long-term future were small, homely units in the community, providing life-long care and security. With a commitment to support this aim, K.H.o.C.A. was started.

Our object is not only to help provide home environments, with all the loving care that that entails, but also to help create opportunities for mentally disabled men and women to lead rewarding and dignified lives. For example, amongst the organisations we support, Art for Life runs creative workshops in Rochester, Spadework provides training in gardening skills at Hildenborough and Offham, and the Vale of Elham Trust owns a 2 acre vineyard, shop and tearoom employing over 50 people with learning difficulties.

Who cares now?

We do. We pay no salaries and our expenses are minimal. What we raise is what we can give away.
